BISSELL AEROSWIFT COMPACT BAGLESS UPRIGHT VACUUM, 1009

Hard to beat at this price
We have a "BISSELL Cleanview Helix Upright Vacuum Cleaner, Bagless, 82H1" which we've been using for the past three years and very happy with it (it's still going very strong with no problems whatsoever). I think the newer "BISSELL AEROSWIFT COMPACT BAGLESS UPRIGHT VACUUM, 1009" is even better: it is a little lighter, has a longer cord, and larger easier to clean dirt bin. It is also easier to release the wand with a longer reach. The Febreeze filter is a nice addition.

Out of the box, the "Aeroswift" was very easy to assemble and put to use (it took two minutes to assemble). The vacuum is very powerful and it sucked the dirt out of the carpet with ease. It has a five levels adjustable knob for different carpet height or bare floor. The dirt container is very easy to remove and can conveniently be emptied from the bottom, it is also large enough for extended use. The handle with the quick release function will easily transition the machine from cleaning floors to cleaning...

A powerful vacuum with pros and cons
I have used a number of Bissell products over the years, and like the others, this one has a list of pros and cons. It seems that Bissell knows how to perfect a powerful vacuum cleaner without giving much consideration to convenience.

Pros:

--This is a powerful little unit. Before I knew it, it had even sucked up a baby wipe with no problems.
--Attachments didn't fall off while vacuuming (a problem I had with a previous vacuum).
--The base is so narrow, it fits in places regular vacuums cannot go.
--The cord detaches and winds up quickly and neatly, thus far.
--This is a light-weight unit.
--Can easily be used on hardwood floors and well as carpet of varying thickness.

Cons:

--Not much suction from the sides.
--The narrow end tool attaches to the hose, so even if you are using the circular tool, the item has to be small enough to fit through narrow part. Also, while the hose provides flexibility, there is no...

Versatile and a good value
The Bissell Aeroswift Bagless Upright Vacuum is quite versatile. It is almost as convenient as a broom but has a ten-foot hose with attachments for dusting and cleaning above floor level. It also has a thirty-foot cord which means it can vacuum an entire room without having to be plugged in multiple times. The power switch is also convenient.

The handle is comfortable and this vacuum is very light and easy to maneuver. The tools store easily onboard, which is a very handy feature.

It is powerful enough to get the job done, although of course it doesn't have as much suction as some of the much more expensive vacuums; it is a bit louder than many of them, as well.

The dust canister is easy to empty without making a mess and it certainly saves on the cost of bags. The scented filter makes the room smell fresh and it can be sprayed with room freshener or simply replaced.

Overall, the Bissell Aeroswift is a good value for a light-duty...
